What Counts As A Spoiler?! - Spoiler Tag
I recently did the Rapid Book Fire Tag (you can find it in the book tags label on the left side of the screen), and it was really fun so when I found this tag I knew I had to do it!
This Tag was created by Gunpowder, Fiction and Plot.

1. What do you consider a spoiler?
I would say a spoiler is any piece of information that you wouldn't know from a blurb or description. In terms of what counts as a spoiler, it could be the result of a relationship (any kind), a character death - and I would go as far as to say that saying "someone dies" is kind of a spoiler because it impacts the way I read the book. In one sentence - a spoiler is anything that will change the way I read the book and what I'm thinking about when I read it.
2. Does the genre you're reading impact what you consider a spoiler?
Yes!
3. All the best bits are in the trailer, sometimes a synopsis can be too detailed. Do you research books prior to reading them, or do you prefer to know nothing about the book?
I do read the Goodreads summary before reading, but I've learned to stop reading community reviews beforehand because they give away way too much information.
4. Sometimes the introduction or translators note can spoil the ending especially for classics, has this ever happened to you?
Not that I know of. But the idea of this happening is infuriating!
5. Name a time someone spoiled a novel for you.
Keeper of the Lost Cities series, (by reading reviews of it - which I now know not to do).
6. Have you ever spoiled a novel for someone else?
I hope not! But I have spoiled quite a few movies though.
7. If spoilers ruin novels, are there some authors or genres you can't reread?
Sometimes, but rarely.
8. When reviewing are you spoiler-free? Does this limit your ability to discuss?
I don't think any of my reviews so far have spoilers (I hope not!). It does limit my ability to discuss the books though.
