Sophie Escabasse is a French illustrator and comic artist living in Brooklyn, New York, with her husband and three children. When not working on her comics or book illustrations, Sophie enjoys sketching in cafés and doing experimental baking with her kids. Witches of Brooklyn is her debut graphic novel.

What I thought of the book:

I thoroughly enjoyed this book! It was fast, fun, and entertaining. 

I really liked the characters, especially Ellie's aunts and the dynamic between them and her, and how it develops through the book. 

I always love reading about magic in books, and I really love it when they are witches. The witches in this book were so great and different from anything else I have read. 

It is a graphic novel, and I really liked the art style. It doesn't have a lot of text on a page like some graphic novels do, so it was very easy to get through. Also, it has a really cool map drawing underneath the dust jacket. 

This book made me laugh out loud multiple times, and I was smiling the whole way through reading it.

This book does have a sequel coming out soon which I will definitely be reading.

I would recommend this book to people looking for something quick, funny, relaxing, and lighthearted. This book also explores themes such as fame, belonging, family and self-image. 

I will definitely be re-reading this soon and I hope that you will consider picking it up too!
